Metalex powered by UPG is looking to hire a Business Development Manager to join our dynamic sales team at our Libertyville, IL facility.
The Business Development Manager will focus on developing new business relationships to expand the company’s network.
Furthermore, the candidate will have a proven track record of success in identifying, tracking, and developing new business opportunities and building relationships with key decision-makers.
This position will report to the Director of Sales.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain current client relationships and identify potential clients, maximizing growth opportunities.
Develop new sales areas and improve sales through various methods.
Effectively build consensus, gain appropriate commitments, and close business.
Must maintain professional and technical knowledge of company products and services by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in industry related associations and events.
Conduct competitive market intelligence; analyze and adjust positioning to grow market leadership.
Forecast sales trends, sales dollars and communicate competitive situations.
Obtain better brand recognition to increase financial growth.
Set up and maintain routine customer contact.
Strategic business plan development and execution.
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field
Minimum 5 years outside selling experience or business development experience in the metals/ steel industry
Proven track record of success in identifying, qualifying, and closing deals
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Basic understanding of metallurgical terminology (long-product and plate processing)
Confident in computer skills, including MS Excel and PowerPoint
