Position Title: Writer (Copywriter) Employment Type: Full time, Academic Staff, Salaried Reports To: The writer will report to the Associate Director of University Relations.
Full Time Pay Range: $45,000 - $50,000 depending on experience University Relations is looking for a creative writer to become the voice of Parkside, to engage and inform future students and their families.
Using interview skills to gather information from students, staff, and faculty, and working closely with the University Relations team, you¿ll write powerful copy for email, print, and web campaigns.
Our team is looking for someone skilled and imaginative, with an eye for detail who can work on a variety of projects with tight deadlines.
The ability to understand our target markets and write persuasive text with varying voices and styles to suit each audience is critical to your success in this role.
QUALIFICATIONS: · Bachelor¿s Degree in marketing, English, communications, or related field 3-4 years proven experience as a copywriter with a solid portfolio Excellent editorial, proofreading, and writing skills Ability to work independently and with a team to meet deadlines Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability In addition to the qualifications, our ideal candidate will have experience with working with a content management system, and a customer relationship management tool.
Speaking and writing in Spanish is a plus.
The copywriter works in University Relations, a small marketing, design, communications, printing, and creative department reporting to the Vice Chair for University Advancement.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Author a range of materials, adapting voice and style suited to external target audiences Consult with internal and/or external stakeholders to ensure accuracy Obtain source approval of content and meet publication deadlines Research topics and interview subject-matter experts to write original content, edit current content, and optimize content for a variety of channels (print, web, social media, etc.
) Create and implement communication campaigns that align with recruitment and University Relations strategies Collaborate with designers, communications, and admissions on projects SPECIAL NOTES: SALARY AND BENEFITS Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
