Reporting to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, the Director of Pricing will lead a small team managing the pricing function for the enterprise.
He/she will provide pricing that ensures the business achieves its GM targets.
This requires a strong business acumen as well as insights into products, market views, segmentation, and competitive market pricing intelligence.
This individual is a thought leader who performs independently and has demonstrated the ability to effectively interact and influence peers and the next level up in organizations (Company and Customer).
The successful individual will assess data from a variety of sources and use it to derive insights into pricing strategies and market trends using a number of quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze competitor pricing, assess market share and margins, and track customer engagement in order to gain a complete picture of effective pricing strategies for their company’s offerings.
Essential Job Duties
Manages the pricing function for the enterprise ensuring the business achieves and expands its GM targets.
Monitors product gross margins and profitability against control standards.
Reviews product prices, approves price deviations, discontinues unprofitable products, and initiates pricing increases proactively when needed.
Makes required course corrections where pricing is not achieving GM targets.
Provide the commercial team with the knowledge and tools needed to effectively sell price increases that position our Value
Proposition with customers.
Key Competencies Leadership, Influence & Change Management – must have highly developed leadership & influence skills with the ability to create a compelling vision for pricing actions acting as a dynamic change agent who can create accountability mechanisms.
Analytical, Critical Thinking & Problem Solving Skills – ability to successfully examine and assess data from a variety of sources, ranging from competitor pricing data to customer segment profiles and cost data that expands margins.
Effective problem-solving skills are vital in this role to devise solutions to drive profitability and support revenue and market share goals.
Mathematics & Financial Forecasting – this role requires excellent mathematical skills to derive insights from multiple data sources and utilize them to develop models and provide pricing advice to decision-makers on every situation.
Must be strong in data management and metrics with a results driven approach.
Develops a range of forecasts and models to proactively set and modify prices, including margin forecasts.
Team Collaboration – must have strong collaboration skills to work closely with sales, marketing, finance, color match and procurement to balance market dynamics, sales objectives, location capabilities and product mix.
Communication Skills & Customer Centric – must be customer centric with strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
Systems Saavy - Must have exceptional ERP systems and Microsoft Office programs knowledge.

Industry Experience - 10 years minimum industry experience
Pricing/Commercial Experience - 10 years minimum industry experience
20% Travel required
