Job Summary: The Senior Brand Manager will report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer and will play a pivotal role in building the Good Foods brand with responsibility for the brand’s long-term strategy, building ownable market positioning, a superior product portfolio and a differentiated innovation pipeline.
The Senior Brand Manager will be responsible for the strategic development and execution to drive sustainable and profitable growth for Good Foods’ portfolio of products.
The Senior Brand Manager defines core strategies and translates these strategies into initiatives, influencing and engaging cross-functionally at all levels of the organization in the execution of those strategies.
This person must manage these initiatives with a holistic business orientation and P&L-centric style.
This role will partner closely with the CMO to shape the future of the Good Foods’ brand and establish a new brand management function within the group.
Job Responsibilities: • Brand Strategy Leadership: leveraging data and insights, this role will develop and lead execution of Brand Strategy inclusive of overall growth strategy, positioning, price/value proposition, strategic target activation, product portfolio and new product strategies • Innovation Pipeline: Lead development and execution of the innovation pipeline, including product line extension, white space innovation and packaging innovation plans.
Partner with cross functional team to develop and execute plans including business case, concept development, feasibility, validation, customer sell in and performance tracking • Cross Functional leadership and collaboration to progress the Brand Strategic Plan including: o Consumer Insights: Partner with Consumer Insights Director to progress brand learning agenda and delivering the Brand’s Strategic Plan o Integrated Marketing Team: Senior Brand Manager will lead development of brand foundations including brand positioning, strategic target and brand guidelines for the integrated marketing team to translate across channel in marketing plans, ensuring effective and efficient translation of marketing strategies o R&D/PMO: Strong partnership with R&D team on innovation pipeline development from concept to commercialization.
In partnership with PMO, progress projects through Stage Gate process ensuring projects ladder up to the Strategic Plan o Sales: Collaborates with Sales to progress strategic plan, develop innovation pipeline incorporating key customer feedback and development of new product selling stories o Corporate Strategy: Partnership to ensure brand + corporate strategies are aligned o Operations: Strong partnership with Ops to commercialize profitable, sustainable, high quality product portfolio o Finance: Partner with finance on long term brand financial targets and ensuring initiatives deliver profitable growth.
Must have business acumen/P&L management experience o Partner with agency and external partners as needed • Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications and Additional Skills: • Minimum Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred but not required • 7+ years of CPG Brand Marketing experience (preferably specialty/ natural foods or produce) • Valid Driver’s License required and insurable by Good Foods Group insurance company • Strong interpersonal, communication, influencing to enroll and align leaders at all levels through effective storytelling and clearly articulated strategic thinking • Strong project management skills, managing multiple projects at once while still delivering a strong attention to detail is required • Entrepreneurial mindset (creative, resourceful, adaptable, risk taker) and proactive contributor that can excel in changing and ambiguous situationsis required • Consumer first mindset with proven ability to develop brand strategy including a view towards the long-term business needs • Proven track record of innovation pipeline development with strong in-market success • Experience leading and motivating a cross functional team including strong partnership with sales on customer collaboration of pipeline development • Demonstrated strong analytical rigor, including understanding P&L drivers as well as syndicated data experience: SPINS, Numerator, IRI, translating data into insights • Gains trust and respect of management, cross-functional teams, vendors, and agency partners.
