Introduction
The Department of Health Services (DHS) Southern Wisconsin Center (SWC) is recruiting for a Nurse Phlebotomist for their outpatient department and employee health clinic.
Work hours are Monday through Friday, 6:45am to 3:30pm, and may require earlier or later hours as needed for labs or clinics.

Position Summary The Nurse Phlebotomist will serve as the primary phlebotomist and is responsible for: Coordinating and performing specimen collection, and some specimen processing Maintaining and operating laboratory equipment and vascular devices Performing blood draws from inpatient adults Assisting the Medical Program Assistant with Excel reports, data collection, filing, and record scanning Assist and provide coverage for Employee Health and Outpatient Department as needed scanning After training received, assist as a direct-care nurse when needed.
This includes providing safe and competent nursing care to persons who have acute and/or chronic conditions with intellectual and developmental disabilities; and working collaboratively with nursing and medical staff, interdisciplinary team members, other health care providers, families, and guardians.
Salary Information Starting salary is between $40.
79 and $47.
21/hour (approximately $84,800 and $98,200 annually for full-time employment), based on years of licensure.
Additional increases are based on years of licensure in the chart below.

40 /hour differential for 1st shift RNs that work hours between 6pm and 6am.

00 /hour temporary add-on will be paid for hours worked Saturday and Sunday.

80/hour weekend differential applies to worked shifts.
A $2,000 sign-on bonus applies to those with no prior state service in the last five years; who stay with the facility in the position until completing probation.
Bonus will be split, $1,000 upon hire and $1,000 after completing probation.
A 12-month probationary period is required.
The pay schedule and range is 11/02.
Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction.
Job Details All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.

All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by SWC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.

Qualifications At a minimum, you will need the following: Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin.
Training and/or experience performing venous blood draws and specimen collection, labeling, and processing.
Training and/or experience with current infection prevention and management practices and regulatory requirements.
Training and/or experience with standard laboratory safety procedures including knowledge of OSHA standards regarding infection control and disposal of hazardous waste.
It'd be great if you also had at least one of the following: Training and/or experience in instructional methods and adult learning principles* Training and/or experience with FMLA, Workers Compensation, and nursing assessments on an emergent basis* Experience monitoring infectious disease reports and culture reports from laboratories* *SWC is wiling to provide training for the right candidate.
