Your team Baxter is looking for recent college graduates to join our Research and Development (R&D) team! You will contribute to the development of creative electro-mechanical solutions to challenging problems associated with Infusion Systems and Applications.
The successful candidate will possess strong technical capabilities, an excitement and energy for product development, and a passion for their work and the impact it has on saving and sustaining the lives of patients.
Potential career paths within R&D include (but are not limited to) Subject Matter Expertise, System Architecture, and Functional or Program Management.
What you'll be doing: Contributes to the development and documentation of system architectures.
Develops, modifies, and approves design documentation, specifications, and drawings.
Implements data acquisition and analysis techniques to characterize design performance.
Defines appropriate test methods to verify designs meet their performance requirements.
Executes protocols and testing required to validate the safety and effectiveness of the design(s).
Ensures successful integration of electrical, mechanical, and software elements of the system.
Software Engineers will: Create software requirements specifications, design, develop code, and perform unit testing.
Create software test scenarios that ensures the software application meets product design requirements.
Contribute to the documentation, implementation and support for embedded software.
Leverage experience with Linux, C++ and/or RTOS to develop applications related to user interface, I/O, and controls; test equipment, emulators/simulators software; and network device and communication software.
Electrical Engineers will: Create designs of complex electrical assemblies, circuit boards, wiring harnesses, and power components for electro-mechanical medical devices meeting performance objectives.
Design analog and digital electronic circuit schematics for microcontroller-based systems.
Analyze circuits using calculation and simulation methods to assess performance limits, effects of environmental and load stresses, and timing interfaces to ensure consistent performance in safety critical applications.
Mechanical Engineers will: Create designs of complex mechanical assemblies, mechanisms, and component parts for electro-mechanical medical devices meeting performance objectives.
Design plastic, sheet metal & casted parts per manufacturing and assembly guidelines.
Perform in-depth mechanical analysis and calculations including tolerance analysis, load and fatigue life analysis, and thermal and heat transfer modeling to ensure consistent performance in safety critical applications.
Systems Engineers will: Define system requirements and specifications based on customer or user requirements.
Contribute to the implementation and test of system level features while interfacing with a cross-functional team Assist risk management activities including Failure Mode Effects and Analysis (FMEA) and Safety Assurance Case (SAC) to ensure safety and effectiveness of designs.
What you'll bring: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical or related Engineering.
A demonstrated ability to successfully contribute to complex engineering projects.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices.
The estimated base salary for this position is $68,000 to $93,500 annually.
The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position.
We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change.
Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
