Description
Education/Training: Licensed Practical Nurse Certification: State of Wisconsin, Special Education certification is required by the successful candidate.
There is a fee of $100.
00 for a five-year license and renewals are necessary as long as you remain in Special Education.
Experience: • 2 or more years experience working with children preferred.
• 2 or more years experience in primary care or home health settings preferred.
• CPR certification • First aid training 1:1 supervision and monitoring 100% of the time and this includes and is not limited to: on/off and in the bus, scheduled and as needed medication administration and flushing via J-tube, flushing of G-tube, pulse oximetry, as needed Oxygen, medications per nebulizer, tracheostomy care, trach collar/ HME changes, tracheal suctioning as needed throughout the day, all daily living needs like positioning, transfers, mobility, toileting/diapering, dressing/undressing, building emergency/evacuations, transitioning within the school building and within the community (field trips).
The student may require a wheelchair when at school and requires a wheelchair home bussette with an LPN on the bus 100% of the time.
The job description as written will cover the most significant duties/responsibilities but does not exclude other work as assigned.
