The Dermatology Pharmacology team at Lake County is seeking an accomplished cellular biologist who will make substantial contributions to the conception and execution of experiments as part of a multi-disciplinary research team in immune-mediated skin diseases within a highly collaborative environment.
A primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to perform cell culture of keratinocytes, fibroblasts and immune cells to enable development and execution of human complex 2D and 3D in vitro model platforms for drug discovery projects.
Experience assessing cytokine levels using the MSD platform is a requirement for the position.
Expertise performing experiments on the MimetasTM organ on a chip platform in addition to the ability to perform basic flow cytometry will be a plus.
He/She will investigate, identify, develop and optimize new methods / techniques to generate reliable and reproducible data in human cellular model platforms in a timely manner.
Working closely with his/ her supervisor this scientist will schedule and prioritize workload to manage several tasks simultaneously and contribute to interpretation of results and drawing conclusions from multistage experiments that further project goals identifying / utilizing resources within and outside of own group.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to present data clearly and thoroughly in both one-on-one and group meetings.
He/She will be expected to understand relevant scientific literature and apply theoretical framework to solving problems in a timely manner.
Strong problem-solving skills are required.
The candidate must be willing to work as part of a multidisciplinary research team in an exciting, fast-paced environment under the mentorship of a supervisor.
Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent education, with typically 3 or more years’ experience or Master’s Degree or equivalent education (no additional experience.
Theoretical and practical knowledge to carry out job function.
