Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Providing surgery prep and post-operative care
Correctly and efficiently executing treatments, diagnostics, and medication under the direction of a veterinarian.
Maintaining detailed and accurate medical records in our animal management software
Assisting with movement of patients, recovery of patients, and general surgery flow
Performing basic lab work
Facilitating foster appointments under the direction of shelter veterinarians
Assisting veterinarians with appointments and procedures
Vaccinating animals in accordance with organizational protocols.
Maintaining and cleaning surgical equipment
Responding to internal and external client inquiries as needed
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Must be able to routinely carry 25lbs and up to 50lbs
This position requires standing, stooping, bending, and lifting for several hours at a time
Euthanasia by injection certified or able to complete the course during the next offering
