Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dental Assistant to join our team.
As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our dental professionals in providing high-quality dental care to our patients.
Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with dental procedures, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a clean and sterile environment.
Duties:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures by handing them instruments and materials
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring impressions and fabricating temporary crowns
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office's appointment calendar
- Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure the safety of patients and staff
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program
- Current certification in Dental Assisting
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, terminology, and procedures
- Proficiency in medical documentation and recordkeeping
- Experience working with pediatric patients is preferred
- Familiarity with dental practice management systems is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment
Skills:
- Knowledge of medical coding for dental procedures
- Proficiency in maintaining infection control protocols and practicing aseptic technique
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry
