*General Statement of Duties*:
* Works with facilities manager to maintain a safe, comfortable & productive learning environment.
* Maintains the buildings and property (inside and outside), ensuring that all facilities are in working order.
* Help to clean the buildings and property (inside and outside).
* Handles certain janitorial responsibilities and other upkeep as needed.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*:
* Performs minor maintenance on school facilities, such as light carpentry work and minor repairs.
* Performs major school cleaning/projects while students are not in session (spring break, winter break, summer break).
* Sets up rooms for special functions and/or assemblies.
* Performs preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
* Creates, modifies and completes work orders in the maintenance system.
* Conduct interior and exterior rounds to ensure proper functioning of systems and equipment, structure integrity of buildings, condition of grounds, etc.
* Ensures that the whole school and associated property is maintained in a clean and orderly manner and supplies are stocked to appropriate levels.
* Snow removal at entrances/exits as required.
* Provide excellent customer service to students and staff.
* Secures premises upon completion of work.
* Handles other duties as assigned.
* On call required.
*Qualifications and Requirements*:
* High School diploma or equivalent
* Maintenance experience
* Ability to work harmoniously, cooperatively and effectively with others, including 3rd party vendors.
* Ability to communicate clearly – written and verbal.
* Ability to initiate and sustain assignments without inordinate amount of supervision or direction.
* Ability to read and follow directions.
* Ability to respond to provided training.
* Trade school certificate(s) in electrical, plumbing, maintenance desired
* Solid knowledge of general maintenance and repairs preferred
* Ability to work with basic computer programs
* Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
* Valid driver’s license

Must be willing/able to perform general maintenance and custodial activities, must be able to lift 50 pounds, must be able to walk upstairs, shovel snow, move furniture, climb ladders, learn to operate general cleaning machinery, perform lawn care maintenance, etc.
Hours, generally, are M-F 7am - 3pm.
Ability to work flexible hours (including weekends) as required.
A presence at special events that occur outside the regular workday may be necessary (including occasional weekends).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.
