To function as facility security, patient/resident safety issues during normal and after business hours of operation.
Protects life and property of all persons on Hospital premises and patrols hospital buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft and vandalism.
Secures, unlocks and protects hospital buildings.
Responds to security needs of facility personnel.
Respond to Medical emergencies within the facility and assists the Paramedic with patient care and transfers as necessary.
Provide Basic level life support to all clients, patients, visitors and vendors
Key Responsibilities:
1 Provides safety and emergency medical response for patients / residents / staff / visitors / vendors.
2 Coordinates with internal and/or external agencies as necessary to ensure appropriate disposition of persons contacting the facility regarding provisions of services.
3 Ensures appropriate patient/resident care and supervision by observing and intervening as needed in the performance of all facility functions.
4 Ensures that facility operations are conducted in a manner which maintains maximum patient/resident respect, staff and visitor safety.
5 Demonstrates superior customer service and patient/resident advocacy.
6 Ensures communication of all significant information within and outside the facility.
7 Participates in performance improvement activities as required.
8 Functions as an Emergency Medical technician and is familiar with all ambulance operations.
Qualifications
1.
Skill, Knowledge and Abilities: Broad understanding of the hospital and its programs, sound judgment and excellent communication and decision making skills.
Ability to obtain and maintain Emergency Medical technician certification.
American Heart Association BCLS required.
2.
Education: Minimum high school diploma, State of Wisconsin Law Enforcement certification or Military experience, NREMT-B preferred, Advanced EMT preferred Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement or Emergency medical Services
3.
Licensure: State of Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician, NREMT-B preferred, Advanced EMT preferred, AHA Basic Life Support.
State of Wisconsin Law Enforcement, Private Security Officer, or Military experience, must present DD-214.
EMT Certified.
4.
Experience: Experience working with patients/clients in a direct care capacity required.
5.
Adheres to Lakeview Infection Control Policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, hand hygiene, isolation, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
A.
To complete Infection Control Orientation upon hire.
B.
To demonstrate hand hygiene and PPE competency upon hire and annually.
C .
To maintain Lakeview requirements regarding vaccination, including but not limited to Influenza and COVID-19.
