Position Description:
At a Glance
Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Controller to join the Kenall Team in Kenosha, WI.
The Controller is responsible for managing accounting operation, overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, accounting staff, monthly closing, external and internal audits, general ledger, and SOX compliance for Kenall.
The Controller prepares financial statements for daily, monthly quarterly and annual reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
The Controller interfaces regularly with corporate accounting staff of the parent company and coordinates process improvements, balance sheet reviews, internal audits, and risk assessments.
The Controller uses his/her interpersonal skills to lead and develop the finance team, improving individual and department efficiency and effectiveness while maintaining a pleasant work environment.
What Will You Do? 1.
Prepares or oversees preparation of the financial statements a.
Ensures close schedules, journal entry book, and list of adjusting and/or one-time entries are maintained, communicated, and adhered to.
b.
Ensures all general and subledgers are closed in a timely and accurate manner.
c.
Prepares monthly and annual legal entity financial statements, brand financial statements, and other statements and analyses as required.
d.
Ensures accuracy of financial statements by reviewing and approving balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and other pertinent supporting documentation.

Provides department leadership a.
Supervises staff supporting accounting functions including: i.
Credit and collections and cash receipts ii.
Accounts payable, T&E/P cards, and freight payments iii.
Treasury iv.
General ledger close/maintenance v.
Fixed asset accounting vi.
Tax reporting, S&U tax compliance, Regulatory reporting vii.
Intercompany accounting 3.
Project/Accounting Leadership a.
Financial liaison with all company departments, peer companies, and subsidiaries b.
Create, maintain, and improve accounting policies and procedures c.
Compliance, controls, and control reporting d.
Process improvement\System enhancements e.
Participates in Legrand best practice committees and as a guest auditor f.
Insurance: responsible for all business insurance needs in liaison with the group’s insurance broker g.
Due diligence support on acquisitions as required h.
Assists VP of Finance with budget and ad-hoc projects as necessary 4.
Management Responsibilities a.
Responsible for planning and directing activities to ensure success in assigned areas of responsibility.
b.
Within assigned area of responsibility, direct and coordinate accounting activities within company policies and procedures.
Develop and implement specific policies / procedures as required.
c.
Maintain an active continuous improvement program and measure its effectiveness.
d.
Staff, develop, and coach direct reports, evaluate performance, and initiate corrective action as required.
Foster a well-trained and motivated staff.
e.
Management style and duties must be consistent with and the company’s vision and principles.

Systems a.
ERP implementation assistance with primary responsibility over accounting applications b.
Technical liaison with IT c.
Ensure that teams are preparing financial information using approved company financial reporting tools.
Qualifications: Required Skills An undergraduate degree in business Finance/Accounting CPA is preferred; MBA a plus but not required Minimum 10 years professional experience with at least 5 years in Finance and accounting management (i.
e.
, controller, assistant controller, finance/accounting manager).
Experience within manufacturing environment required, preferably lean manufacturing Experience with business process improvement teams and initiatives preferred Excellent negotiator Experience in operations Strong IT experience, preferably EPICOR or similar middle market ERP/Mfg system Strong computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
Advanced knowledge of excel and related finance software Strong written and verbal English communication skills as required to discuss training, general direction and other position-related tasks.
Ability to supervise, direct workload and motivate direct reports.
Must be professional in appearance and attitude and possess the ability to work in a professional manner with vendors, customers, and employees at all levels.
High level of self-initiative and dependability.
Demonstrated ability to display strong customer service skills.
Resourceful and highly organized with an attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage, prioritize and balance multiple tasks.
Ability to work within a team environment.
