The Senior Accountant performs moderately to complex financial analyses to summarize current and projected organization financial position.
Recommends methods and procedures to improve accounting processes.
Performs activities relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate ledger and the resultant managerial reports and financial statements.
Prepare and/or contribute to the preparation and/or review of accounting reports (e.
g.
, balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements) according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies
Prepare and/or record journal entries related to balance sheet and income statement activity
Create analytical schedules supporting financial statements, audits, initiatives, ad hoc requests, etc.
Utilize and apply knowledge of Accounting to assigned tasks (e.
g.
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and other relevant accounting regulations as well as company policies)
Advise internal departments, field personnel and/or non-Follett associates on how to handle/resolve transactions with a financial impact
Reconcile all assigned balance sheet accounts and perform financial statement variance analysis
Communicate, create and/or follow company policies and procedures
Participate in the creation of business requirements, system design, testing and/or issue identification and resolution related to strategic initiatives
Requirements:
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
5-7 years of experience
