Senior Project Accountant
What we are looking for:
Aldridge Electric is hiring!! We are looking for a strong Senior Project Accountant to oversee pay estimate application processes for multiple construction projects.
In this role you would potentially supervise 1-2 project accountants and would also include job related financial analysis as needed.
You would use your skills to work with project managers to submit invoices, pay estimates and waivers to customers along with documentation required by our contract.
You will also interact with Accounts Payable to coordinate subcontract and supplier payments as determined by the terms of the contract.
What you’ll do: Lead and manage the accounting and financial reporting for highly visible large and complex projects, engaging directly with senior leadership in finance, operations, and risk management Assist in the development and tracking of the business plan, budgeting, forecasting, and financial variance analysis Work with Customers and Joint Venture partners to ensure financial projections and Aldridge billing processes (including verifying rates and hours for labor, material, and equipment) are being properly managed and executed in accordance with contract terms Provide analysis to the operations team on productivity and profitability, including providing financial insights to labor or equipment mixes that optimize profitability without sacrificing field productivity Assist in managing the labor plan to ensure meeting financial and operational goals Develop strategies that drive monthly Status reviews to verify job cost accounting, cost at completion forecasting, and cash management Report on monthly key measures of success including cash position, profitability, gains and fades, and change order / contract value management Help the field and project managers gain a financial perspective of the job through the use of Excel, Tableau, and Job Cost Reporting Report to work ready to perform assigned tasks by using established safe work practices, Participate in all required safety training Prepare monthly financial statements and WIP schedules for Joint Ventures Who you are: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA preferred 5-10 years of experience (construction industry preferred) or equivalent Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to explain accounting concepts and results to project teams and /or other employees who have various levels of understanding of the accounting process Great organization, time-management, and prioritization skills Ability to produce high quality work in a fast paced environment Ability to multitask and to adhere to the monthly close schedule and accounting deadlines Strong Excel skills Experience in managing others Ability to be a strong but diplomatic advocate for your ideas in front of executives Who we are: Aldridge, a family-owned company, is one of the largest specialty contractors in the US, dealing in the power and transportation markets.
