PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: The Finance Manager coordinates and provides supervisory support for the consolidation and reporting of financial information for Operations ECM (External and Contract Manufacturing) Business Units.
This position is responsible for supporting the ECM Financial Planning & Analysis through Actual/LBE/Update/LRP/Plan/Standards processes.
This position will also have leadership responsibility of ECM HQ P&L for all planning and reporting cycles.
The Finance Manager operates independently with significant interface across business and finance teams within ECM and other organizations [Ops HQ, OFP&A, IME, Supply Chain].
Ability to manage competing deadlines while achieving timelines, team-oriented nature, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and effective at communicating financial information in clear and simple terms to a range of stakeholders.
This position will also motivate and coach 1 exempt employee; share ownership and visibility; ensure high productivity and morale from employee.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Financial Reporting & Analysis – Actuals Process and Reporting: Coordinates and provides support in the consolidation of Actuals and Monthly Reporting processes (P&L, Balance Sheet, Headcount), which includes variance analysis as well as understanding the business to ensure commentary is accurately portrayed.
Facilitate and assist in the consolidation and preparation of management review packages and analytics of financial performance for Actuals (P&L, Balance Sheet, Headcount).
Drive process and system improvements to ensure continued evolution of efficiencies.
Work closely with Ops HQ to understand and define timelines and required templates.
Financial Planning & Analysis – Plan/Standards/LRP/LRP/LBE Cycles: Coordinates and provides support in the consolidation of forecasting cycles (LRP, Plan, Standards, Update, &LBE’s) for ECM.
Provide guidance and instructions.
Facilitate and assist in the consolidation and preparation of management review packages for LBE, Plan, Standards, and LRP.
Analyze, evaluate, and recommend areas of opportunity and/or concern.
Lead the implementation / rollout of new systems to ECM.
Drive process and system improvements to ensure continued evolution of efficiencies.
Work closely with Ops HQ to understand and define timelines and required templates.
Finance Business Partnership: Support division margin improvements by aligning with business partners and empowering the finance team to deliver exceptional results.
Identify and manage system and process enhancements to leverage changing technology and to advance business objectives.
Internal Controls & Compliance: Ensure financial results are recorded in compliance with AbbVie financial policies (CFM’s), Sarbanes Oxley and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Enforce and enhance internal controls by providing guidance and counsel to ECM Business Units in areas of Corporate Finance Manual (CFM) policies, divisional internal control procedures and international policies.
Standard Costing Opportunity: While core consolidation role provides indirect exposure to cost accounting processes, there may be potential opportunity in the long-term to gain direct exposure and experience with standard cost setting for a TPM product.
REPORTS TO: ECM Finance Associate Director Effectively manage matrix relationships with ECM Finance teams, Ops HQ team and other Ops functions.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree B.

in Business (Accounting/Finance) required.
7+ years of finance/accounting experience preferred.
CPA and/or MBA desirable.
Strong leader with a keen sense of ownership and strong team building skills, ability to set and align goals/priorities; ability to motivate and empower others; and ability to hold individuals accountable for delivering exceptional results.
Strong business partnership skills and team-oriented nature; ability to communicate and influence outcomes by relaying complex financial data in clear and simple terms.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities (across different time zones) to achieve results and meet deadlines.
Strong sense of initiative & inquisitive self-starter; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; high ability to identify and resolve financial issues independently.
Disposition to generate ideas and embrace the ideas of others to manage innovation to reality.
Possess a working knowledge of US GAAP, AbbVie’s policies, and financial controls framework.
Experience supporting and presenting to senior business and finance leaders.
Knowledge of Ops BA, BPC, HFM, SAP, TEAMS.
