Purpose
The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for the financial accounting, financial reporting, cost allocation, collection of data and preparation of reports that maintain AbbVie’s cost accounting systems for business' supported.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, finance transformations initiative, Ad-hoc costing requests throughout the year, manufacturing variances analytics, inventory analysis, accounts reconciliation and ad-hoc financial analysis for the region.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining the standard costs in SAP S4 across region sites.
Support site reviews and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual results for business supported, including but not limited to development of annual plans/Updates/LBEs/LRPs and DOH Analysis.
Provide critical data and understand the growth/performance of the business along with analysis of variances of actual vs plan for prior year.
Support sites, as needed, with Month End close, Journal Entries etc.
Support finance transformation initiatives to drive efficiency and effectiveness in the region as well as material master data owners with finance reviews.
Support the internal controls and SOX compliance programs.
Promote process for standardization, operational improvements, effectiveness, and identification of areas for cost reductions throughout the region sites.
Support the Americas CoE lead, external and internal auditors in ad-hoc requests.
Expertise in cost accounting and standard costs variance analysis is preferred.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
4+ years experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in Excel.
Experience in SAP S/4 and third-party system applications preferred.
Customer-focused with strong communication time management skills.
