Becoming an Accounting Specialist at the Lake County Division of Transportation will allow you to be involved with our Maintenance Department, Engineers, Administration, other departments across the County, and Residents.
Your day will consist of processing account payables and receivables, reviewing and approving invoices, preparing purchase orders, coding Pcard transactions, preparing the weekly deposits, and front desk receptionist duties.
Regular hours of work are Monday through Friday, from 8:00am - 4:30pm.
Alternative work schedules are available including varying start times and some remote work opportunities.

Process daily accounts payableProcess monthly accounts receivableReview invoices for accuracy and completeness prior to payment Obtain proper level of approvals on all paymentsProcess requisitions and purchase ordersReview and code monthly Pcard transactions Prepare weekly depositsServe as the front desk receptionist answering phones, managing mail, and greeting visitors
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
There are currently two Accounting Specialist roles open at the Division of Transportation.
One is a combination of accounting support and customer service at the front reception desk and the other is focused on accounting support for our Maintenance department.
Physical Requirements: Requires sedentary work involving standing or walking for brief periods, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular basis; and some dexterity in operating machines, tools, or office equipment.
