The Accounts Receivable Accounting Specialist is a key member of the Waukegan Steel (WS) accounting team.
The position will report to the Finance Controller.
This role has strong growth potential as WS continues to grow.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Process monthly billings/pay applications to General Contractors and coordinate approvals.
• Resolve issues, and revise pay applications as needed to obtain approvals.
• Prepare, submit, and obtain approval of required waivers of the liens.
• Prepare periodic accounts receivable aging reports.
• Track and follow up overdue pay applicants.
• Assist controller with monthly close and preparation of financial reports.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting is preferred but not required.
• 2+ years of experience in general accounting, preferably in the construction industry.
Accounts Receivable experience is also a plus.
• PROCORE software knowledge is preferred, but not required.
• Candidate must thrive in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
