Job Overview Reporting to the General Manager Oncology for International Marketing & Commercial Operations, the Brand Team Lead (BTL) will take responsibility for leading the development of global brand strategy for one of our Oncology assets and owns the commercial tactical plan for implementation across geographies.
The BTL will lead a marketing team to ensure that asset brand plans are developed in collaboration with cross functions, and activities are delivered in accordance with project milestones.
The BTL will play a leading role helping prepare the organization for product launches, partnering with areas and affiliates in developing launch plans.
This is a senior level role within the International Marketing & Commercial Operations organization and provides a fantastic opportunity for an individual who would like to further their career in global marketing, providing experience of the various brand and governance forums, whilst having the autonomy to make a major impact on our affiliates and customers around the world.
Key responsibilities: As a core member of the International Brand Team, the Brand Team Lead for led asset / indication: • Provides overarching leadership and direction for global marketing strategy • Develops marketing vision, strategies and plans, co-creating with key Global, Area and Affiliates stakeholders The Global Brand Lead owns both present and future commercial performance of led asset / indications, collaborating closely with key counterparts, including Pipeline Commercialization Strategy, Global Medical Affairs and Global Pricing and Access.
Leadership: • Provides positive leadership and productive influence across the organization.
Sets the tone and priorities for the asset.
• Influences and persuades across multiple external and internal constituents (stakeholders and partners).
Leads and develops direct, indirect and cross-business partners.
• Infuses AbbVie Ways of Working and Talent Philosophy in day-to-day leadership and management of the business.
• Leads and manages direct teams and external partnerships to execute key marketing initiatives • Demonstrates strong cross functional and cross geographical influence and leadership without authority capability; Works effectively with other leaders on the brand team.
• Builds strong relationships with peers and cross functionally with partners outside of team to enable higher performance.
• Learns, fast, grasps the 'essence' and can change the course quickly where indicated • Raises the bar and is never satisfied with the status quo.

Action and Accountability: • Determines appropriate actions, executions, tracking and monitoring of Marketing Plans.
• Drives key initiatives ideation to implementation at the country level.
• Executes Launch Readiness Reviews by employing leadership and marketing skills.
Exhibits P&L mindset and manages own budget effectively.
Strategic Impact: • Must have positive attitude, strong written and interpersonal skills, as well as excellent planning and organization skills to support brand objectives.
• Formulates and adjusts business plans and actions to achieve business objectives and goals, including financial, constituents and market results.
• Takes and recommends appropriate strategic decisions and actions for the best interest of AbbVie, franchise and brand at the varying life cycle stages.
• Effectively orchestrate work across internal teams and external partners.
• Exhibits strong presence with executive leadership.
Key Experience & Competencies • Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred.
• At least 5 years of Oncology marketing experience with solid tumor experience preferred.
• Pharmaceutical Sales and Marketing Leadership (Business Unit Director or Business Unit Manager Level).
• Prior global or regional experience preferred.
• High level of cross functional team leadership and engagement.
• Prior launch experience.
