Eaton’s Power Systems division is currently seeking a Lead Electronics Hardware Engineer.
This role is located out of Franskville, WI.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $97,499 - $142,999 a year.

The Power Electronics Engineer will be a critical member of the Power Systems Division’s team and will develop electronic hardware for high performance, real-time controls and protective relays used for smart grid applications in the electrical power distribution industry.
You will collaborate with other Hardware and Power Electronics Engineers as well as systems engineering, software engineering, and QA to design and implement features for power distribution products.
What you’ll do: What you’ll do: The Lead Electronics Hardware Engineer will develop electronic hardware for high performance, real-time controls and protective relays used for smart grid applications in the electrical power distribution industry.
As a key member of this team, you will collaborate with a multi-discipline engineering team (software, hardware, and test) to define requirements between hardware and software subsystems.
In this role, you will: • Design electronic circuits and sub-systems for power distribution system intelligent electronic devices, including power supplies and analog and digital circuits • Design peripheral interfaces for microprocessors and microcontrollers • Lead high-level design activities for new product features including establishment of requirements • Design, implement, and execute tests in support of design verification • Lead troubleshooting investigations to resolve complex issues • Lead system interface design activities and help resolve integration issues • Collaborate with external and internal customers, such as Marketing, Service, Operations, and other engineering teams throughout the product development life cycle • Participate in the analysis and specification of electronic subsystems • Participate and lead in hardware design reviews • Participate in tasks related to new product development including planning, task estimation, design, design verification, peer review, integration, and release • Plan and execute tasks in collaboration with the product team to ensure project objectives are met • Evaluate and recommend hardware development process improvements in collaboration with engineering management Qualifications: Basic (Required) Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in in electronic hardware design and development • No relocation is offered for this role.
Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the Franksville, WI site.
Preferred Qualifications: • Strong understanding of power electronic devices and applications • Experience designing linear and switching power supplies • Experience with EMI testing and troubleshooting and designing for EMI robustness • Experience in design verification testing and analysis • Strong understanding of electronic component specifications and device selection • Experience with embedded electronic peripherals • Experience with printed circuit board layout design • Experience with schematic capture and pcb layout ECAD tools • Knowledge of power systems, switchgear and regulator controls products/applications is an added advantage Skills: • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Self-starter with the ability to operate effectively with minimal supervision We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for job applicants and employees.
