Job Responsibilities:
Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment by actively leading the safe execution of work.
Spotting trailers from dock doors to yard
Sliding tandems when needed for safe dock door loading procedures.
Ability to facilitate yard checks.
Ability to utilize onboard technology as part of the yard management system.
Pre-shift scheduling will be handed out and planned to meet that shift’s demand for trailer movement between spotting of trailers to doors and back to yard.
Make last-minute deliveries when needed.
Completing pre-trip safety sheets to ensure truck equipment is in good working order prior to start of the shift.
Conducting pre-trips on trailers prior to spotting at doors
Communicating trailers in non-working status that does not meet trailer standards of the mill.
Operating the yard truck in a safe manner
Drive and operate the vehicle under 15mph in and around the facility.
Responsible for accounting for records involving container numbers, gross weights, tare weights, and net weights on the scale log sheet to include source and type of material.
Must function and interact on a daily basis with plant personnel and comply with plant safety requirements.
Communicate using a cellular telephone or 2-way radio with dispatch, operations, and plant personnel.
Responsible for maintaining a neat and orderly storage lot oriented toward maximizing efficiency in servicing the plant needs.

Required Experience:
Valid CDL-A.
1+ years of spotter experience
Minimum of 6-months of OTR experience
No more than 3 moving violations or preventable accidents in past 3 years
Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
