The Opportunity Our Diagnostics business currently has an opportunity for the role of Software Engineer for our Abbott Park, IL location.
The primary function of this position is to develop innovative solutions to automate the functional testing of our next-generation software offerings.
The Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain a table-driven Test Automation (.
Net / C#) framework developed using UFT in conjunction with Microsoft UI Automation framework.
The automation framework will need to provide reliable and efficient building blocks to deliver a platform for both technical and non-technical resources to generate automated tests for our software.
What You’ll Work On Collaborate closely with all members of the team to take shared responsibility for the overall efforts that the team has committed to.
Interact with users as necessary to clarify requirements, investigate issues, and take ownership for the quality of software.
Break larger projects into smaller ones that can be delivered iteratively, using an agile mindset.
Problem solve, understand, and analyze complex issues and propose workable solutions.
Prioritize work based on benefit and project timelines.
Work with existing toolsets while simultaneously bringing new ideas and approaches into the team.
Adhere to and respect working agreements with teams when working on projects.
Work on software design, coding, and validation.
Will support formal verification and validation testing and ensure that development conforms to design specifications and coding standards.
Follows defined software development lifecycle procedures and Abbott's quality system procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree with 2-4 years of related experience, Associate's Degree with 6+ years of related experience, or Master's Degree.
Preferred Qualifications Excellent knowledge of programming concepts in C# and WPF.
Experience with Microsoft .
NET technology framework and object-oriented programming concepts.
Experience working with automated testing tools (Coded UI, Selenium, Appium, UFT).
Experience in agile software development lifecycle methodologies.
Experience in defining internal and external software interfaces using program and industry standards.
Experience in designing, authoring, and executing software tests.
Strong, effective troubleshooting skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
