The Opportunity This position will be part of our Abbott Diabetes Care Division, where we are focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions.
We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.
This is an exciting position where you will join our rapidly growing development team as a JavaScript focused, full stack software engineer building the next iteration of Abbott’s LibreView diabetes management platform.
Our main locations are in Orlando Florida, Bend Oregon, and Alameda California.
It is preferred but not required that the candidate lives near one of the hubs, but this can be a remote position for the right candidate.
#software What you’ll work on Write maintainable, well-tested, and well documented code for the Abbott Diabetes Care LibreView platform Collaborate with technical product owners, software engineers, system engineers, and test engineers to build capabilities that enhance the user experience for both healthcare professionals and people with diabetes.
Contribute to the backend systems and APIs that drive the various applications that make up the LibreView platform.
Identify and propose tools and solutions to improve the quality and speed of software delivery Collaborate on architectural decisions and design best practices Take part in regular code reviews and author required technical documentation Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with 5 + years developing and designing software products or an equivalent combination of education and work experience Demonstrated experience developing, shipping, and maintaining complex JavaScript web applications Deep understanding of modern web application design architecture, API design patterns, performance and scale Expert level knowledge of the React Framework Strong understanding of professional software engineering best practices for the full SDLC including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
Effective communication & listening skills Outstanding interpersonal and collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
Experience with Golang, Typescript and SQL is a plus Experience working in an agile environment.
