The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) is recruiting for a Limited Term Employment (LTE) Office Associate position at our Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery (SWVMC) in Union Grove, WI.
Situated on state-owned farmland at the Southern Wisconsin Center, the 105-acre cemetery site encompasses gently rolling hills with serene, natural beauty.
The cemetery is conveniently located in southeastern Wisconsin and easily accessible from the metropolitan areas of Milwaukee, Racine and Kenosha.

Position Summary
Under general supervision of the Cemetery Director, this position performs a variety of administrative duties in support of cemetery operations.
Areas of responsibility include coordination of committal, interment, and pre-registration programs in accordance with prescribed operating/regulatory requirements; organization of record keeping, correspondence and filing.
The position provides oversight and coordinates funeral service activities with funeral homes, family members, and cemetery personnel.

Salary Information
The pay rate is $18.
17 per hour.
This job does not offer employee benefits.
This position is in pay schedule and range 02-09.
Job Details
This position may work up to 40 hours a week.
LTE jobs are limited to 1,039 hours in a 12-month period and do not include employee benefits.
The duties of this position require working outdoors in support of funeral services as necessary.
This position also supports the grounds staff with the loading and unloading of the casket or cremated remains for transportation to the grave site.
The incumbent must possess or be eligible to obtain a valid Wisconsin driver's license prior to appointment and be able to meet and maintain the standards for driving a state vehicle according to fleet management policies.
Due to the nature of the positions, WDVA will conduct criminal background checks prior to an offer of employment.
Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have training and/or experience with office administration (e.
g.
record keeping, customer service, form completion, etc.
).
Per Wisconsin Statute 230.
26, Wisconsin residency is required for LTE appointments.
