Responsibilities:
Provides pharmacy services and assistance under the supervision of a pharmacist.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Refills and maintains automated dispensing systems.
Fills medication carts on a daily basis.
Prepares orders and maintains inventory for the pharmacy department.
Repackages bulk medications.
Provides pharmacy services and assistance under the supervision of a pharmacist.
This role may support additional projects, perform administrative tasks, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
High School diploma or equivalent.
LIC PHARMT: Illinois licensure as a Pharmacy Technician.
Pharmacy Technician License (IDFPR).
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through PTCB required for all those licensed after 2008.
Newly licensed Technicians have 2 years from license effective date to obtain their CPhT.
Preferred:
1 year experience in a hospital setting.
