The Assistant Quality Coordinator is a vital member of the quality management team in a Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH).
This role supports the Quality Coordinator in implementing and maintaining quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and regulations, and promoting patient safety and optimal care outcomes.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in Quality Improvement Initiatives: Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality improvement projects.
Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance patient care and safety.
* Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze data related to quality indicators and patient outcomes.
Utilize this data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and the effectiveness of quality initiatives.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and standards, including The Joint Commission, CMS, and other accrediting bodies.
Assist in preparing for audits and surveys.
* Policy and Procedure Management: Aid in the development, review, and updating of hospital policies and procedures to align with best practices and regulatory requirements.
* Education and Training: Assist in providing training and education to staff on quality improvement processes, compliance standards, and best practices in patient care.
* Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with various departments to promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Communicate effectively with staff at all levels regarding quality initiatives and outcomes.
* Reporting: Prepare regular reports on quality metrics, improvement initiatives, and compliance status for management and relevant committees.
* Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
* Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in quality management or a related area.
* Knowledge of healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in data management and analysis tools including: Excel, Word and the rest of the Microsoft suite of programs.
